  • Here's a quick overall sequence of the drag assembly less anti reverse, spring washers & shims. The overall drag sequence as shown in these photos are always the same, but the anti reverse, spring washers & shims can vary from reel to reel, so we opted to leave that out to avoid confusion! Take note at how clean all components are... Extremely Important!!!
  • Grab one of the three small hole drag washers & slid it down the drive gear shaft first...
  • ...and should look like this!
  • Now, slide on your drive gear...
  • ... then install the carbon fiber drag washer with the largest center hole. This is specially cut to fit inside the drive gear to clear the bronze bushing & is always the first of the three larger carbon fiber drag washers that are to be installed.
  • This is the first of the "keyed" metal drag plates that originally came with your reel, taking note that there are two different styles. This will be the thinner or flattest of the two, using the "concave" or "cymbal" shaped plate for the very top "keyed" drag plate and should look like this!
  • Now install the second small hole carbon fiber drag washer...
  • ... followed by the metal "eared" plate and should look like this!
  • Now install the third small hole carbon fiber drag washer followed by the second of the two metal "keyed" drag plates. Remember, this will be the "cymbal" style of the two & always is on the top of the stack if this applies to your reel. Some models had two flat plates.
  • It should look like this when your all done. Now just add your anti reverse, spring washers, shims, & reassemble in your side cover!

OKUMA CONVECTOR CV-30 & 45 SERIES CARBON FIBER DRAG WASHER SET BY DRAGMASTERS

This drag kit can be used with a light coating of drag grease, or can be installed dry.  For fresh water applications, we highly recommend installing them dry.

This kit is compatible with the following model reels:

Okuma Convector CV-30C, 30CS, 30D, 30DS, 30L, 45C, 45CS, 45D, 45DS, 45L, & 45LS

This kit is not compatible with the Okuma CV-30DLX or CV-30LX Series reels, but just simply click here for that application.
